Gaye visited Benin in May, 2002 as the personal guest of the Ambassador to Benin, an old friend.

Gaye's visit to France
In July 2001, Gaye performed solo at the Cognac Blues Passions festival in the village of Cognac.
It is the largest blues festival in France. Her reception was excellent!
The festival director said that "she made the unanimity more than any other artist."
